I discovered that I loved writing and "making up songs" at a very young age. Like before preschool young. As I approached adulthood songwriting started becoming an obsession. That obsession has led me to the path I now find myself on. It sure took me long enough. But I'm here now. That's all that matters.
My songs are mostly a tapestry of my experiences, as are most songwriters. "You gotta live it before you can write it" I always say. Some I've taken great care to tell it just the way it happened; Now That I've Found You, So Alone, to name just a couple. Others are Loosely based in my experiences like; When My Lips Touched Hers. But everything I write has part of my life ingrained into it. Every song is a view into my heart, mind and soul.
Adversity and love lost has been not only a great motivator but a great muse as well. I was determined to not write another sad, slow tearjerker after a devastating breakup in 2015. Writing Wildfire was a turning point in how I approached the lyric/music dynamic. And consequently how I view my world now. Like Marilyn Monroe said: "Sometimes good things fall apart so better things can fall together".
